Practices
There are generally four typical morning practices (M, Tu, Th, F) and three afternoon practices (M, W, Th) each week. Wednesdays after swim meets we do a special fun Ribbons and Relays practice. On days with two practices, swimmers are not expected to attend both, but rather to choose the practice that works best with their schedules. Parents do not need to inform coaches of which practice they will attend, and swimmers are free to switch back and forth between mornings and afternoons based on their schedules.
There are a few exceptions to the schedule described above:
- Morning practices do not start until DeKalb County Schools are out.
- Although there are typically no afternoon practices on Tuesdays (due to meets being scheduled on Tuesdays), there are Tuesday afternoon practices for the first three Tuesdays of the season.
- Although there are typically no afternoon practices on Fridays, there are Friday practices until school is out.
Generally speaking, morning practices are considerably less crowded than afternoon practices, and, as a result, swimmers in morning practices often get more attention and personalized instruction.
